Grok Light Sync: What It Is
Grok Light Sync integrates Tesla's Grok AI assistant with the vehicle's ambient interior lighting system.
How to Enable Grok Light Sync
Controls → Lights → Ambient Lighting → Grok Sync
Requires ambient lighting hardware — available on 2024+ Model 3, Model Y Juniper, Model S/X Refresh, and Cybertruck.
Why You Haven't Received the Update
Common reasons your Tesla may not have 2025.8.4 yet:
- WiFi connected overnight?
Tesla prioritizes wifi-connected vehicles for updates.
- Update preference set to "Advanced"?
Controls → Software → Software Update Preference
- HW version?
HW4 vehicles receive updates first, then HW3, then HW2.5.
- Geographic region?
US rollouts typically lead international markets.
How to Install a Pending Update
- 1Check update availability
Controls → Software — see what's included and estimated install time.
- 2Schedule or install now
"Install Now" begins immediately (car must be in Park). Schedule for overnight is recommended.
- 3Wait for installation
Screens go dark, car is not operable for 5–15 minutes. Do not attempt to drive.
- 4Car reboots
All settings are preserved. Some features may need one-time reconfiguration.
