How to Enable Tesla Camp Mode
Camp Mode maintains climate control, interior lighting, music, and 120V power outlets while parked — perfect for sleeping in your Tesla or extended stops.
Steps to Enable Camp Mode
- Put the vehicle in Park
- Tap the climate/fan icon at the bottom of the touchscreen
- Tap "Camp" from the climate options
- Set your desired temperature

How to Open Tesla Doors
Door Release Locations

Interior: Pull the wide flat button near window switches. Emergency: Lever at door base (near floor). Exterior: Press the B-pillar button or use the handle.
Opening from Inside
- Pull the wide flat door release button on the door panel (near window switches)
- If that doesn't work, there's a manual emergency release lever at the base of the door panel (near the floor) — pull it toward you
Opening from Outside
- Model 3/Y: Press the wide part of the exterior handle or the B-pillar button
- Model S/X: Handles present automatically when you approach with the key
How to Restart the Tesla Touchscreen
Soft Restart
For minor glitches
- 1. Vehicle in Park
- 2. Hold both scroll buttons
- 3. Wait until screen turns black
- 4. Release — restarts in ~30 sec
Duration: ~30 seconds
Full Power Off
For persistent issues
- 1. Controls → Safety → Power Off
- 2. Wait 2–3 minutes
- 3. Press brake pedal to wake
Duration: ~3 minutes
Force Reboot
Screen completely frozen
- 1. Hold both scroll buttons
- 2. Press and hold brake pedal
- 3. Hold all until Tesla logo
Duration: ~60 seconds
How to Put a Tesla in Neutral
Standard Neutral
For brief moments (parking lots)
- 1. Press brake
- 2. Tap "N" on drive mode strip
Note: Disengages when you exit the vehicle
Tow Mode (Car Wash Neutral)
Stays in neutral after you exit
- 1. Controls → Service → Towing
- 2. Enable "Tow Mode"
- 3. Car stays in neutral

How to Start a Tesla
Teslas don't have a traditional start button. With your phone or key card detected:
- Sit in the driver's seat (the car wakes automatically)
- Press the brake pedal
- Select Drive or Reverse on the touchscreen

- One-pedal driving: Regenerative braking slows the car when you lift off the accelerator
- Autopilot: Pull the right stalk down twice to engage (when available)
